Mukul Roy, a BJP MLA, expressed his desire to rejoin the party. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee responded by saying that it was up to him to decide his political future. She said that they don’t care about Roy’s decision and instead focused on his son’s missing complaint, which she called a serious issue. The Trinamool Congress will continue to be known as such.

Roy claimed that he was never with the TMC and will work for the BJP. However, the state administration will investigate the missing report made by Roy’s son Subhrangshu concerning his father’s disappearance. Roy’s family said that he has dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
