Man who fled with breathalyser caught by Bowenpally police

The Bowenpally police in Hyderabad arrested a man for stealing a breathalyser from traffic police while they were testing for drunk driving. The police recovered the device and impounded his car.

The accused, Kothapalli Sravan Kumar, also known as Sunny, is a 27-year-old car driver. The incident occurred on June 27 at Pulla Reddy Building in New Bowenpally, where traffic police were conducting drunk driving checks. During a test on Sunny at around 12:50 am, he suddenly grabbed the breathalyser from the police officer and fled in his car.

A case was filed against Sunny under sections 353, 356, and 379 of the Indian Penal Code. He was arrested by the police on Wednesday.

The police urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement during drunk driving checks and other safety measures to create a safer community.
