The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) department of Telangana has announced its plans to implement the ‘Bhagidari’ initiative in Hyderabad to enhance community interaction. The initiative aims to establish a strong partnership between the government and the citizens to promote community participation in decision-making and problem-solving. The MAUD department believes that this initiative will help in creating a sustainable and inclusive urban environment that caters to the needs of all sections of society.

Under the ‘Bhagidari’ initiative, the MAUD department will create a platform for citizens to voice their concerns and suggestions regarding various civic issues. The department will also involve citizens in the planning and implementation of development projects in their respective localities. The initiative will focus on enhancing citizen participation in areas such as waste management, water conservation, and urban greenery. This will not only help in addressing the challenges faced by the city but also foster a sense of ownership among citizens towards their neighbourhoods.

It will provide an opportunity for citizens to actively participate in the development process of their neighbourhoods and contribute to building a better city. The MAUD department has also announced that it will collaborate with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community-based organizations (CBOs) to ensure the success of the initiative. This partnership will help in creating a more inclusive and participatory approach towards urban development, ultimately leading to the creation of a sustainable and livable city for all.
