Minister for Excise Srinivas Goud recently spoke at a press conference in New Delhi, where he expressed that the people of Telangana are ready to stand up against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s vendetta politics in the upcoming elections. He stated that the voice of Telangana cannot be suppressed by enforcement agencies and that the people have grown up from a history of struggle and therefore do not fear intimidation tactics.

Minister Goud also criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for keeping BRS leader Kavitha in their office for hours in the name of liquor case investigation. He accused the BJP-led Centre of using law enforcement agencies against the BRS and creating fear among party cadre unable to face their leader and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao politically.

Regarding allegations made by Union Minister Kishan Reddy that Kavitha had destroyed her mobile phones in November 2020 to escape from the liquor scam, Minister Goud questioned how such false statements could be made when Kavitha was summoned before the ED in March 2021 and had shown her used phones to the media and handed them over to the ED to deny the allegations. Minister Goud emphasized that since Kavitha has not been involved in the alleged scam, she has handed over her previous mobile phones to the ED, which is enough to prove her sincerity.
