G Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister of Coal and Mines, started his two-day trip to Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) on Friday.
During his visit, he will check the operations at the Jhanjra Underground Mine and Sonepur Bazari Open Cast Project (OCP). He will open the new Eco Park at Jhanjra, called ‘Sindoor Park’, which celebrates the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’. The minister will also join the International Day of Yoga 2025 events at this park.
Reddy will inaugurate the Mahudanga Rehabilitation Site as well.
To support local communities, he will hand out job appointment letters under compassionate employment rules and distribute tricycles to individuals with disabilities at RN Colony, Sonepur Bazari Area, ECL.
He plans to hold talks with various stakeholders in the mining industry, including coal mine workers who have played a key role in reaching company goals. Additionally, he will visit Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) sites to meet with Project Affected People (PAPs) and acknowledge employees for their outstanding work.
