    Minister of Rural Development calls on community to support individuals with disabilities

    In Mulugu, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka expressed the government’s dedication to the well-being of disabled and transgender individuals. A program was held at the Collectorate on Tuesday by the Women Development and Child Welfare Department to provide tools and financial aid to these groups.

    During the event, Minister Seethakka spoke about the different reasons people may become disabled and emphasized the importance of society’s support for them. She also highlighted the rights and dignity of transgender individuals, stating that they should be given assistance to live with respect in society. The government has set aside Rs 75 crore for the welfare of disabled individuals, she added.

    At the program, retrofitted motor cycles and battery wheelchairs were distributed to disabled persons. Minister Seethakka also presented financial assistance checks to two transgender individuals, along with Member of Parliament Mahabubabad, Porika Balram Naik. The government is focusing on supporting women and implementing new schemes in the Mulugu region for the first time, noted Naik.

    The event was attended by various officials including District Collector Divakara T. S., Additional Collector Local Bodies P. Sreeja, Additional Collector Revenue Mahender, District Welfare Officer Swarnalatha Lenaina, Minister OSD Madhusudan, and other staff members. The presence of a public servant like Minister Seethakka, who tirelessly works for the people, was appreciated by local residents.
