Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar took a surprise journey on an RTC bus from Hyderabad to Mahabubnagar to understand the public’s concerns. During the journey, he spoke with passengers and addressed issues related to public transportation. Accompanied by Devarakadra MLA Madhusudhan Reddy, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar interacted with commuters along the route.
The minister discussed challenges faced by passengers on the Narayanpet bus route and sought feedback on the Mahalaxmi scheme’s free travel for women. He assured passengers of welfare measures like free travel in RTC buses, health coverage up to Rs. 10 lakh, subsidized cooking gas, free electricity for women, and housing under the Indiramma scheme within the government’s first 90 days.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar promised the arrival of 1,000 new buses to improve the RTC fleet and address transportation challenges. He also emphasized ongoing efforts to implement Pay Revision Commission recommendations and upcoming recruitment drives within RTC to benefit passengers and employees. This surprise journey highlights the government’s proactive approach to enhance public transportation services in the state.
