    Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu has instructed the Education Department Principal Secretary, Burra Venkatesham, to prepare proposals concerning the job security and salary increase for 1,654 guest lecturers in government junior colleges.

    Earlier on Monday, a few guest lecturers’ associations met with the Minister at the Secretariat. During the meeting, Sridhar Babu emphasized that the Congress party had promised in their election manifesto to raise the lecturers’ salaries from Rs 28,000 to Rs 42,000.

    The Minister stated that he would discuss the proposal with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and work towards resolving the issue.

    Additionally, he assured that while the appointment process for regular lecturers is ongoing, they will consider creating extra posts to accommodate the guest lecturers without removing them from their positions.
