Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, along with R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, unveiled statues of Savitribai Phula and Jyotiba Phule at the BC Bhavan near the IT hub on Hyderabad Road. The event was organized by the BC Welfare Association.

Ponnam expressed support for a BC caste census, highlighting that the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Cabinet had issued a GO after a resolution in the Assembly. He criticized the previous government for neglecting the welfare of BCs for ten years, mentioning the lack of funds for welfare departments and fee reimbursement during that time.

The ministers emphasized the importance of not only unveiling the statues but also continuing the legacy of Savitribai and Jyotiba by familiarizing people with their contributions to society. Komatireddy mentioned plans to build Gurukula buildings in each constituency at a cost of Rs 80 crores and the construction of a SLBC and skill development center in Nalgonda.
