Hyderabad: Senior MLA Danam Nagender has once again attracted attention with his bold and controversial remarks. Speaking about the Formula-E race and other political matters, he highlighted that while the race enhanced Hyderabad’s global reputation, it also faced allegations of corruption.

Addressing the controversy, Nagender stated, “I never said there was no corruption in the Formula-E race. I only shared my opinion when KTR sought my advice on the matter. However, I have not given him a clean chit.” This clarification seemed to distance him from the ongoing debate surrounding the event.

Reaffirming his strong stance on political issues, Nagender said, “I am not afraid of by-elections. My position on matters like the Hyderabad Development Plan (HyDRA) remains unchanged. The government must revisit its approach to HyDRA.”

Nagender also took aim at BJP leaders for their “MusI River Sleepover” campaign, accusing them of shallow activism. “They slept with air conditioners installed beforehand and ate food brought from outside, not from the houses of displaced families. It was nothing more than a token gesture,” he criticized.

His comments have stirred reactions across political circles. Many are now closely watching the government and opposition’s next steps on crucial city development issues.
