MLC Jeevan Reddy has expressed his belief that those involved in corruption in the Kaleshwaram project should be held accountable and punished. During a visit to Raikal mandal, he stated that until recently, many believed that KCR had achieved something remarkable by lifting Godavari water to a height of 500 meters. However, Reddy pointed out that projects like Sriram Sagar, Srisailam, and Nagarjuna Sagar, which were constructed under the Congress regime 50 years ago, are still functioning well, while the pillars of the Kaleshwaram project, built just four years ago, have already collapsed.
Reddy further criticized the massive debt of 1.20 crores that the people of Telangana state have been burdened with due to the Kaleshwaram project. He questioned why the BJP, despite referring to the project as an ATM for KCR, is not investigating the alleged corruption. Reddy also highlighted the Mission Bhageeratha project, which has imposed a debt of Rs. 40,000 crores on the state’s residents but has yet to deliver water through its pipes. He concluded that both the Kaleshwaram project and Mission Bhageeratha are evidence of KCR’s corruption.
