Medaram Jatara, a religious event, has already attracted 50 lakh devotees and is expected to see another 2 crore visitors. The event began on Sunday, with Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy overseeing the arrangements for the comfort of devotees. Minister Seethakka is also actively involved in ensuring everything runs smoothly.
On Monday, both Ministers Seethakka and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy visited and prayed at the Sammakka Saralamma temple in Medaram, Tadvai mandal in Mulugu district. Ponguleti arrived at the temple by helicopter and was welcomed by Seethakka and Collector Ila Tripathi. He performed a traditional offering called Utcha Bangaram in Tulabharam.
At the event, Ministers Ponguleti and Seethakka inaugurated a media center and a free medical camp organized by the Ayush department. Ponguleti highlighted the government’s efforts to make the event successful, including increasing the budget from Rs 75 crore to 110 crore despite financial losses.
The government has taken steps to ensure the comfort of devotees, with 6,000 RTC buses running for transportation and free bus facilities for women as promised during elections. Special attention has been given to sanitation, with 4,000 workers appointed for cleanliness.
Infrastructure improvements, such as constructing 270 kilometers of roads and providing thousands of toilets and clean water, have been made. The government aims to fulfill the needs of the people and make sure everyone has a pleasant experience at the event.
