Nagarkurnool district has earned the top spot in Telangana for its successful use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in classrooms. The district achieved a major milestone by completing 100% online registration for AI-based learning in 22 government schools.
In recognition of this accomplishment, Yogita Rana, the Principal Secretary of the State Education Department, honored Ramesh Kumar, the District Educational Officer (DEO) of Nagarkurnool. The felicitation took place during a DEOs’ meeting held on Sunday in Hyderabad, where Kumar received a shawl and memento.
Last academic year, the state government introduced a pilot project to bring AI-based education to select schools. Nagarkurnool was among the chosen districts. The program targeted students in Grades 3, 4, and 5. All 285 students across the selected schools were successfully enrolled and took part in the digital learning initiative.
Other districts like Ranga Reddy, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Kamareddy also achieved full participation in the program. Their DEOs were acknowledged and appreciated alongside Nagarkurnool.
DEO Ramesh Kumar praised the support of sectoral officers, mandal education officers, headmasters, and teachers for making the project a success. He urged educators to continue their efforts and prepare for the expansion of AI teaching to more schools in the coming academic year.
He shared that AI-powered lessons have made a real difference. Students improved noticeably in Telugu reading and math skills. Parents and students responded positively, and Kumar expressed confidence that this innovation will lead to increased enrollment in government schools.
Nagarkurnool’s success story highlights how technology can transform learning in rural schools and offer students better educational opportunities. The district’s achievement sets a strong example for others to follow in embracing AI for education.
