The Telugu Desam party celebrated its 41st formation day at Nampally exhibition grounds in Hyderabad, where founder president N T Rama Rao launched the party with the slogan of Telugu pride. The party is making renewed efforts to regain its old glory in Telangana and used the occasion to recall its relationship with Telugu people in the region. Party national president Chandrababu Naidu acknowledged the good work being done by the BRS government, which has continued important projects initiated by the TDP government, such as the international airport, ORR, and Metro rail project. Naidu appreciated the door-to-door campaign by party workers and encouraged them to adopt one family each to help with their all-round development, which would remove the menace of caste and economic differences. The streets leading towards Exhibition Grounds were decorated with yellow posters and banners with pictures of party leaders, and a photo exhibition showcasing various development works taken up by the Telugu Desam government was organised. The leaders recalled how TDP played a key role in the development of Hyderabad, transforming it from a city known for curfews and communal clashes into an IT hub and a centre for manufacturing vaccines for COVID-19. The TDP official spokesperson Thirunagari Jyothsna said that this meeting was a big slap on the faces of those who ask where is TDP in Telangana, as it is still very much present in the hearts of the people.
