This program offers financial protection to families living below the poverty line, providing up to Rs 10 lakh per year for the treatment of serious illnesses that require hospitalization and surgery.

Previously, the scheme only provided Rs 5 lakh, but the Congress party increased the limit to Rs 10 lakh as part of their election promise.
