Hyderabad: Agasara Nandini recently triumphed in the heptathlon at the 26th Asian Athletics Championship 2025, earning a gold medal. Now, she aims to secure an Olympic gold for India.
Nandini, a student at the Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS), received a warm welcome on Monday. She also had a meeting with Dr. V S Alugu Varsini, the Secretary of TGSWREIS.
In a media interaction, Nandini expressed her pride in setting an Asian record that remains unbeaten. She emphasized her determination to win Olympic gold for India, stating that it’s a time to intensify her training and aim for global success. She credited Dr. Varsini for recognizing and nurturing her talent, which boosted her confidence. Nandini discovered her love for sports in Class VI, and her journey from state to international competitions has been fully supported by her institution.
Dr. V S Alugu Varsini praised Nandini as a national inspiration, highlighting her determination and performance as proof of their residential education model’s success. This marks the first time a student from Telangana Gurukul has won a gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championship, an achievement that fills them with pride.
