Hyderabad: On Monday, Union Minister Kishan Reddy visited the ESIC Hospital in Sanathnagar. He checked the hospital’s various departments and their conditions.
The hospital staff gave a presentation on new policies and medical services offered to workers and their families. Kishan Reddy also inspected the construction of a new building on the site. Earlier, he planted a sapling at the hospital.
Speaking to the media, Kishan Reddy praised the hospital for winning the award as the best in the country. He recognized the success of Sanath Nagar ESI Medical College and Hospital.
The hospital serves about 3,000 outpatients each day, with 900 visiting the super-specialty section. It is emerging as a rival to corporate hospitals and plans to expand its specialties, focusing on organ transplants. Telangana has issued 1.7 million ESI cards, providing healthcare to about 8 million people.
Efforts are underway to introduce online doctor appointments, home blood sample collection, and mobile delivery of test results. The outpatient department currently sees a record 2,900 patients daily. The Modi government is enhancing healthcare in Telangana, with approval for AIIMS, ESI, and two new medical colleges in progress.
A new medical college is being built with a budget of Rs 800 crore and will have 300 beds. It will open soon with modern infrastructure. Thirty-five percent of seats are reserved for Insured Persons, with 1,027 students enrolled in the MBBS program.
Over 3,000 MBBS graduates have completed their studies and are serving the community. Forty-four students have earned MD and MS degrees and are now providing medical services.
Each year, 307 students graduate from various departments. The ESI Hospital and Medical College offer prestigious specialization courses, including Medical, Paramedical, MD, MS, MCh, and DNB programs.
