In Hyderabad, Dr. Sunil S Hiremath, the Director and Curator of Nehru Zoological Park, celebrated the 78th Independence Day by hoisting the national flag at the zoo.
As part of an eco-friendly initiative known as Go Green, the zoo introduced four new electric two-wheeler bikes on Thursday. These bikes will be used by field officers for moving around inside the zoo.
During the event, certificates of appreciation were given to outstanding employees for their exceptional service in various sections of the zoo. Dr. Sunil praised the award winners for their contributions to the zoo’s growth.
He also mentioned that Nehru Zoological Park is famous for conserving and breeding both local and exotic endangered species. The zoo exchanges wild animals with other zoos to ensure a healthy change in bloodlines.
Additionally, the zoo has launched new projects like mobile ticketing apps, a zoo website, solar fences, and solar cameras at different locations.
