Global streaming giant Netflix has officially set up a significant office in Hyderabad, marking its first major base in South India and its second overall in India after Mumbai. The company has leased around 41,000 sq ft of commercial space at CapitaLand ITPH Block A in HITEC City, one of the city’s most prominent tech and media hubs.
The new Netflix office will support a range of regional operations, including content creation, post-production workflows, technical management, and vendor coordination. Industry sources say the Hyderabad hub is expected to play a key role in expanding the company’s engagement with content in regional languages and strengthen collaborations with South Indian film industries, including Tollywood, Kollywood, and others.
Hyderabad’s selection as a base reflects the city’s rising importance as a combined media-tech and innovation centre. With its growing infrastructure, skilled creative talent pool, and vibrant production ecosystem, the city provides a strategic launchpad for Netflix’s deeper integration into regional markets. The building also hosts other global media players such as Warner Bros. Discovery, underscoring the area’s appeal to entertainment and technology firms.
Analysts believe Netflix’s move will create new opportunities for local professionals in content development, technology, and post-production services. It further cements Hyderabad’s reputation as an emerging hub where global entertainment, digital media, and tech innovation converge.
