Hyderabad: The newly elected Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) in Telangana will take their oath on Monday morning. The oath ceremony will be held in the Telangana Legislative Council, and Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy will administer the oath.
Among those taking the oath are three Congress MLCs – Vijaya Shanti, Addanki Dayakar, and Kethavath Shankar Naik. Two BJP MLCs, Malka Komaraiah and Chinnamile Anji Reddy, will also be sworn in. In addition, CPI MLC Nellikanti Satyam will take the oath.
BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan, who was also elected recently, is expected to take his oath on a different day soon.
In the recent MLA quota elections, five candidates were elected unopposed to the Legislative Council. These included Vijaya Shanti, Addanki Dayakar, Shankar Naik, Nellikanti Satyam, and Dasoju Sravan.
Earlier in March, Malka Komaraiah and Anji Reddy from the BJP were elected from the Teachers’ and Graduates’ constituencies, covering Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad, and Karimnagar districts.
