The Northern part of Hyderabad has been neglected in terms of development compared to the thriving Western part of the city. To address this issue, the North Hyderabad Development Forum and Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi submitted a representation to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, requesting the allocation of land to develop the area into a FinTech City.

Members of the North Hyderabad Development Forum highlighted the disparity between areas like Hitech City and Gachibowli, which are flourishing, and the underserved North of Hyderabad. They suggested developing the Northern part into a Financial Technology City (FinTech City) inspired by successful models like Silicon Valley and Gujarat’s GIFT City.

The proposal includes investing in critical infrastructure for the FinTech City initiative to attract investments, drive economic growth, and position North Hyderabad as a global innovation and financial hub. The area is home to prestigious colleges and universities, nurturing skilled professionals eager to contribute to the nation’s progress through innovation and entrepreneurship.

The members of Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi emphasized the need to spread development to the undeveloped North of Hyderabad, as Hitech City is overcrowded with professionals and supporting staff. They also suggested extending the metro rail network to Medchal for better connectivity and development opportunities in the region.
