    Khammam’s Agriculture Minister, Tummala Nageswara Rao, has directed officials to protect government lands in the city. He wants a detailed report on the status of government lands, encroachments, and NSP lands. The Minister wants prompt action to clear encroachments and inquiries to ensure proper usage of government lands. He also wants a buffer zone in key areas to prevent unauthorized constructions.

    During a meeting with the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Adarsh Surabhi, Tummala reviewed the city’s development. He stressed the need to plan for the next 25 years, including road widening. He also discussed urban development with the Stambhadri Urban Development Authority.

    Tummala revealed that the Khammam Municipal Corporation has generated a revenue of Rs 405.82 crore in the past five years. SUDA collected Rs 3,301.84 lakh from permits issued between 2020 and 2023.

    The Minister wants to make Khammam an exemplary city and instructed officials to align plans with this vision. With a population of 4.23 lakh, Tummala emphasized the need for a sustainable water supply, especially during the summer months.
