Officials criticized by Atishi for alleged failure to pay salaries

Delhi Revenue Minister Atishi has expressed concern over the non-payment of salaries to civil defence volunteers. She has instructed the principal secretary (revenue) to ensure that all civil defence volunteers receive their salaries within a week. Atishi has emphasized the need for coordination with the finance department to expedite the process.

Atishi has stated that it is alarming that civil defence volunteers have not been paid for several months despite their service in various government departments. She acknowledges the extraordinary role they played during the COVID-19 pandemic, assisting millions of Delhi residents and supporting the government in delivering relief services. She also highlights their importance during recent floods in the national capital.
