Gadwal: District Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana instructed officials to thoroughly verify and compare voter lists from 2002 and 2025.
A training session on this verification process took place in the IDOC meeting hall on Saturday. The District Collector stressed the importance of a systematic and error-free comparison between the 2002 and 2025 voter rolls. He mentioned that each revenue village should be treated as a single unit during this verification.
Voters are categorized into four groups for detailed scrutiny:
- A: Those listed in 2002.
- B: Those not listed in 2002.
- C: Voters aged 22 to 37.
- D: Voters aged 18 to 21.
The Collector emphasized that before the Summary Intensive Revision (SIR), officials must first compare the 2002 and 2025 voter lists at each polling booth. New registrations after 2002 should be verified carefully. Reports need to be prepared according to the Election Commission’s guidelines.
He also set a deadline of September 23 for completing desk-level tasks related to the SIR and encouraged setting daily targets to meet this timeline.
RDO Alivelu, mandal-level Tahsildars, BLOs, election department staff, and other officials attended the training.
