Officials told to monitor hospitals for overcharging

Nirmal: District Collector Abhilasha Abhinav has instructed that all hospitals, both private and government, in the district must adhere to the Clinical Establishment Act – 2010.

On Friday, the Collector convened a meeting at the Collectorate with officials to discuss enforcing the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act – 2010 and the Women and Child Protection Acts.

She emphasized that both government and private hospitals should deliver high-quality medical services. There should be no carelessness in upholding the Women and Child Protection Acts. Hospitals must not overcharge patients, and a clear rate chart should be visible at the reception.

All hospitals are required to maintain minimum standards and manage bio-medical waste properly.

It was made clear that every private hospital, scanning center, and diagnostic lab must register under the Clinical Establishments Act.
