Karimnagar: Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Chahat Bajpai, has announced that over 16,000 Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) applications related to the year 2020 need to be processed quickly within the next two months.
On Thursday, she held a review meeting with officials to discuss the progress of the LRS applications. As per government directives, the District Collector has assigned specific duties to officials from the Revenue and Irrigation departments to address the pending LRS applications.
During the meeting, officials were asked to explain the status of the 26,850 LRS applications received by the Municipal Corporation. Out of these, more than 10,000 applications have already been processed, but 16,276 applications are still pending.
The Commissioner instructed the officials to resolve the remaining LRS 2020 applications promptly. She emphasized that a committee consisting of Revenue Department RIs, Irrigation AEs, and Town Planning Officers should be formed to conduct a special survey in their respective areas.
The Commissioner further directed that the survey should begin at the field level from Friday onwards. Officials were asked to process the applications using geo-tagging and photos, aiming to process 100 applications each day. However, applications related to land belonging to the Municipal Corporation or other government properties should not be processed. Only applications with valid land titles and site clearance should be considered.
Additionally, all applications, including those from the divisions of merged villages, should be processed. A special help desk should be set up at the Municipal Corporation office to assist the public with any doubts or issues related to their LRS applications.
Lastly, Commissioner Bajpai conducted a surprise inspection of the Citizen Service Centre and various departments within the Corporation. She inquired about the progress and details of the work being carried out by each section.
