In Wanaparthy district, the government of Telangana has introduced a 500 bonus for millers in the 2024-25 season. This bonus comes as part of a program where the government buys paddy from farmers and provides them with additional benefits. The goal is to help people in the region access rice easily.

Although the initiative intends to advance throughout Telangana, millers in Wanaparthy district have faced challenges. Unlike the previous season, they haven’t received the same paddy supplies as in 2023-2024. Due to this, many millers have taken legal action, causing delays in the process. The millers are in a standoff with authorities, which has slowed down the conversion of paddy to rice.
