India has been evacuating its nationals from Sudan due to ongoing conflict between the regular army and a paramilitary force. They have set up a transit facility in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the Ministry of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan is overseeing the evacuation mission from there. The government’s focus has been to advise and assist stranded Indian nationals. They have also reached out to foreign ministers of other key partners whose nationals were also stuck in Sudan. So far, nearly 2000 people have been moved out of the conflict zone.
