Hyderabad: The State government has appointed Professor C. Srinivasulu, a renowned zoologist from Osmania University, as a member of the newly formed State Wildlife Board.

The Wildlife Board will act as an important advisory group. It will provide expert suggestions on identifying and managing protected areas in the state. The board will also help in creating policies for wildlife conservation and protecting specific plant species. Additionally, it will bring together experts, public representatives, and policymakers to work on wildlife-related issues.

Professor C. Srinivasulu is well-known for his work in the field of wildlife and biodiversity. He is also a member of the Telangana State Biodiversity Board and leads the wildlife biology and taxonomy lab at Osmania University. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Studies at the university and is the Nodal Officer for RUSA 2.0.

As a dedicated researcher, Professor Srinivasulu has made major contributions to wildlife studies. He has published over 150 research papers, authored 17 books, and created many online resources. In 2023, he was honored with the State Best Teacher Award. Over the years, he has guided 15 PhD scholars in wildlife-related research. His involvement with several national and international scientific organizations highlights his global recognition in the field.
