Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of the AIMIM party and MP from Hyderabad, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on Triple Talaq, Uniform Civil Code, and Pasmanda Muslims in Madhya Pradesh. Owaisi questioned why the PM is taking inspiration from Pakistan. He asked if India’s diversity would be lost in the name of Uniform Civil Code. Owaisi also mentioned that Triple Talaq was abolished in countries like Egypt, Pakistan, and Qatar years ago.

Owaisi stated that the NDA Government made a law against Triple Talaq but it did not make any difference at the ground level. Instead, the exploitation of women has increased further. He tweeted that if a law has to be made, then it should be made against men who flee from their marriages. Owaisi also accused the PM of shedding crocodile tears for Pasmanda Muslims while BJP workers are attacking their mosques, taking away their livelihoods, bulldozing their homes, and lynching them.

He alleged that the NDA Government opposes reservations for backward Muslims and stopped scholarships for poor Muslims. Owaisi asked what Modi is doing about the exploitation of Pasmanda Muslims before seeking their votes. He also demanded that BJP workers apologize for insulting the Prophet before seeking votes from Pasmanda Muslims.
