At the procurement center, the Collector reviewed the ongoing operations and emphasized the importance of weighing and transporting the procured paddy to rice mills without delay. He also highlighted the need for immediate data entry into the system to ensure smooth processing.

As part of his visit, the Collector inspected records related to the procurement process and checked the moisture content of the paddy using a digital moisture meter. He stated that paddy with up to 17% moisture content should be purchased at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and sent to rice mills immediately. The Collector further directed that all procurement data must be updated in the OPMS system within 24 hours and that physical records should match the online data.

The government has set the MSP for paddy at Rs 2,320 per quintal, with an added bonus of Rs 500 for Grade-B paddy. Officials were ordered to ensure that no procured paddy remains in storage and that it is promptly transported to rice mills to avoid delays.
