In Wanaparthy, many Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) are providing medical treatments beyond their qualifications, like surgeries and blood tests. This trend is most common in Atmakur, Pebbairu, and Kothakota mandals. Some locals believe that officials from the medical and health departments are allowing these practices to continue.

These unauthorized treatments have caused serious health issues and even deaths, as RMPs lack the proper training. Patients with illnesses like dengue and typhoid are being treated by RMPs, who also care for infants. When things go wrong, patients are sent to bigger hospitals to avoid responsibility.

There are accusations that private hospitals and labs are working together with RMPs. Some hospitals pay RMPs for referring patients, while labs conduct tests based on RMPs’ prescriptions instead of qualified doctors’. Residents of Wanaparthy are calling for action from district medical authorities, who are being criticized for not taking action and allegedly accepting bribes.
