Andhra Pradesh Sets World Record for Gram Sabhas
Andhra Pradesh has achieved a world record by conducting Gram Sabhas in 13,326 village panchayats across the state, all in just one day. This remarkable feat has gained global recognition.
The World Records Union acknowledged this achievement by awarding an official certificate and medal to the state’s Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department. The record was set on August 23, and the award was presented by Christopher Taylor Craft, the Official Records Manager of the World Records Union, at an event in Hyderabad.
This milestone was reached within 100 days of the new Andhra Pradesh government taking office. The government, through the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department, organised the Gram Sabhas to encourage people’s participation in governance. It was praised as the largest village governance initiative ever conducted in a single day.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his pride in this achievement. He emphasized that it is a moment of great pride for the entire state.
