Hyderabad: The State government announced on Thursday that it is working towards a permanent solution for the issues related to the Dharani portal. This decision comes after a study conducted by the Dharani committee, which was formed to address problems that arose when the portal was introduced by the previous government.

Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, while presenting the budget, mentioned that out of 3.49 lakh grievances received, 1.79 lakh have been resolved. He emphasized that the government had promised to study the problems caused by Dharani. Based on the committee’s recommendations, a special drive was conducted to resolve grievances.

This special drive took place from March 1 to 15 under the supervision of district collectors. By March 1, there were 2,26,740 pending applications, and 1,22,774 new applications were received during the drive, making a total of 3,49,514 applications. Since the drive began, 1,79,143 grievances have been resolved.

Bhatti also highlighted that they have introduced 10 informative modules for 35 types of transactions in the Dharani portal. These modules aim to address field-level problems. The government is continuously reviewing the status of these grievances with the collectors. A final decision for a permanent solution will be made after the Dharani committee completes its study.

The Deputy CM criticized the previous government, accusing them of introducing Dharani with the intention of depriving rightful landowners of their property. He said that errors and illegal actions during the input of land information into the Dharani portal have caused significant difficulties for many landowners and farmers.

These landowners faced challenges in selling their land due to mistakes or fraud associated with Dharani. As a result, they struggled to cover expenses for their children’s education, weddings, and other family needs.
