A man named Manohar Babu, who lives in SCB Nagar Nandu under Kothagudem 2 Town Police Station, visited an elderly couple’s home in February 2023. He came to their house because his children, one in America and one in Bangalore, were not with him. A person named Mahaveer and his family had been renting the upper part of the couple’s house for four years. They were friendly with the elderly couple, but Mahaveer stole a key to their house and took some gold jewelry while they were at the temple.
Mahaveer stole around 117 grams of gold jewelry, including a necklace, chain, and four bangles. When the elderly couple noticed the theft due to missing jewelry, they hurriedly left for America without filing a police report. However, they later asked a friend to file a complaint on their behalf.
Upon returning from America, Manohar Babu learned about the theft and worked with the police to investigate. They caught Mahaveer trying to sell one piece of stolen jewelry at Khawa Wagu Bridge. Mahaveer confessed to the theft, and the police arrested him and sent him to jail on remand.
