Hyderabad: Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTAU) has reached a new milestone in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025. The university now holds the 24th position among agricultural and related institutions in India, moving up from the 37th spot last year. This ranking was announced today by the Ministry of Education.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Aldas Janaiah expressed his pride in this accomplishment. He noted that PJTAU is now the 4th among agricultural institutions in South India. He credited this progress to targeted initiatives since he took office 10 months ago, along with significant government support and the dedication of the university’s faculty, staff, and students.
Prof. Janaiah pointed out the creation of four advanced research centers as crucial to the university’s success. These include the Center for Digital Agriculture, which aims to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into farming practices; the Center for Natural Resources and Environment, dedicated to conservation efforts; the Center for Sustainable Agriculture Systems; and the Center for Human Resource Development, which focuses on improving the skills of both teaching and non-teaching staff.
