Hyderabad: Osmania University has improved its position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025. It now ranks 53rd in the Overall category, moving up from 70th place in 2024.

In the University category, Osmania University climbed from 43rd to 30th, showing its increasing academic status. Although its rank among State Public Universities changed slightly from 6th to 7th, the overall trend is positive. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram attributed this success to a strong focus on research.

“Our faculty’s dedication is crucial to this achievement,” he stated. The university’s research citations jumped from 15,000 to 90,000, and its H-index increased to 121. This progress was supported by greater visibility on platforms like Google Scholar and Vidwan.
