Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Integrated Industrial Smart City in Zahirabad on May 10. The ambitious project, part of the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor, is expected to transform the industrial landscape of Telangana and attract significant investments to the region.
The project carries an estimated cost of ₹2,360.54 crore and will be developed across 3,245 acres of land. The industrial city is designed with world-class infrastructure facilities to meet the requirements of modern manufacturing and logistics operations. Officials expect the project to attract potential investments exceeding ₹10,000 crore from various industrial sectors.
Employment generation remains a key focus of this initiative. By 2029, the smart city is projected to provide employment opportunities to approximately 1.74 lakh people. This significant job creation is expected to boost the local economy and provide livelihood opportunities across multiple skill levels in the region.
The industrial city will focus on several major sectors including logistics, auto components, electrical and electronics, machinery equipment, metals, and food processing. This diversified sectoral approach aims to create a robust industrial ecosystem that can sustain long-term economic growth and attract both domestic and international manufacturers.
The project incorporates smart technology and state-of-the-art infrastructure throughout its design. The development follows sustainable and environment-friendly practices to ensure minimal ecological impact. The smart city will feature plug-and-play facilities, enabling industries to begin operations immediately without delays in setting up basic infrastructure.
Beyond industrial facilities, the smart city will offer a complete ecosystem for workers and businesses. The development plan includes residential homes, commercial communities, schools, and training institutions alongside industrial units. This integrated approach aims to create a self-sufficient urban center that supports both industrial operations and quality of life for residents.
Located strategically in the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor, the smart city is positioned to become a major hub for manufacturing and logistics sectors. The project represents a significant step in Telangana’s industrial development strategy and is expected to contribute substantially to the state’s economic growth in the coming years.
