A delegation of 21 MPs from the Opposition’s Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) visited Manipur to assess the situation in the state. They met with Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey and submitted a memorandum requesting the restoration of peace and harmony. The memorandum also highlighted the need for rehabilitation and resettlement of affected individuals and urged the Union Government to intervene in the deteriorating law and order situation.

During their visit, the delegation toured relief camps in Churachandpur, Moirang, and Imphal, and interacted with the victims. They criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the ongoing violence, citing the high number of deaths, injuries, and property damage that has occurred over the past three months.

The memorandum alleged that both the Central and state governments failed to protect the lives and properties of the people affected by the ethnic conflict. It also emphasized the dire conditions in the relief camps, particularly for children, and highlighted the negative impact of the internet ban on spreading unsubstantiated rumors and deepening mistrust.
