Hyderabad: Police in Hyderabad have captured a known thief involved in several home burglaries. The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone, worked with LB Nagar and Rachakonda Commissionerate police to arrest him. They found 31.456 tolas of gold ornaments worth Rs 31 lakh in his possession.
The thief, Jaganatham Prabhu (33), is a mason from Upparpally, Ranga Reddy District. He committed thefts in areas under LB Nagar, Uppal, and Mailardevpally Police Stations. He has a history of involvement in 10 previous house burglaries.
Originally from Vaddepally, Bodhan Village, Nizamabad District, Prabhu now lives in Upparpally, Ranga Reddy District. Ande Srinivasa Rao, Additional Deputy Commissioner, mentioned that Prabhu broke into houses both day and night. He was recently arrested by Narsingi police for property theft and jailed but continued stealing after his release on bail in May 2025.
With a tip-off, police caught Prabhu in LB Nagar and retrieved the stolen gold ornaments.
