On Tuesday, a member of the Maoist party surrendered to police and CRPF officials in Kothagudem. Sangepu Mahesh, also known as Susie, had been working with the Maoists since 2012. He was influenced by recent counseling sessions held by the police and surrendered with his family members.

Superintendent of Police Dr G Vineeth gave a statement about Mahesh’s surrender. He explained that anyone who wants to surrender and live a normal life can approach their nearest police station or district officer, either in person or through their family members. The district will provide rewards and rehabilitation on behalf of the government.

Dr G Vineeth handed over money to Mahesh in his office in Kothagudem to help him start his new life. The Maoist party is a banned organization in India, and many members are living underground. The police hope that more members will come forward to surrender and start a new life.
