Peddapalli witnessed a mega blood donation camp on Monday, organized by Ramagundam Police Commissioner Rema Rajeshwari as part of community policing. The event was held at the Government ITI College ground to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti. The camp broke the Guinness record and entered the International Wonder Book of Records. The program was inaugurated by Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar, MP Venkatesh Neta, MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy, Ramagundam Police Commissioner Rema Rajeshwari, and DCP Vaibhav Gaikwad, who garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
During the event, CP Rajeshwari expressed her gratitude towards the team of Peddapalli DCP Vaibhav Gaikwad, ACP Edla Mahesh, CIs, SIs, and staff for raising awareness about blood donation in every village within their jurisdiction. The mega blood donation camp saw the participation of 6,500 individuals and collected 6,166 units of blood. The donated blood will be distributed to 20 district government blood banks and other blood banks to help patients suffering from thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, and dengue.
CP Rajeshwari commended the Peddapalli Zone police officials for organizing such a successful event. The Red Cross Society officials played a crucial role in ensuring the program’s success. Minister Eshwar acknowledged the leadership of CP Rajeshwari and praised the idea of organizing a record-breaking blood donation camp. MLA Manohar Reddy expressed his appreciation for the participation of youths, women, and students from each village. MP Venkatesh Netagaru also commended the Peddapally DCP, ACP, CI, SI, and staff for their efforts in organizing a remarkable program.
