Kothagudem, Telangana – In a special event at the Superintendent of Police (SP) office, local police returned 150 recovered mobile phones to their owners on Wednesday.
SP Rohit Raju announced that the phones were tracked and retrieved through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. These phones had been reported lost across different police stations in the district.
He explained that anyone who loses their phone should immediately file a complaint with all necessary details on the CEIR portal. Once registered, police can trace the device if someone tries to use it.
The SP emphasized the importance of reporting lost phones quickly. He said, “As soon as someone registers their complaint on the CEIR portal, we begin the tracking process. If the phone is used again, we can find it and return it.”
In the last five months, 743 lost mobile phones have been successfully traced and given back to their owners through this system.
SP Rohit Raju praised the efforts of the district police team. He presented certificates of appreciation to the officers involved in locating and returning the devices.
Those recognized included SB Inspector Srinivas, IT Cell Incharge CI Ramu, SI Suresh, and IT Cell members Naveen, Naresh, Mahesh, and Naren. Their teamwork made the recovery of the phones possible.
The SP encouraged citizens to use the CEIR portal as a quick and effective way to recover lost or stolen mobile phones.
