Police Win Friendly Cricket Match Against Press Team

Gadwal: A lively cricket match took place today at the District Police Parade Grounds, bringing together the District Police Team and the Press Team. The event was organized to build stronger ties between police officers and journalists.

B.M. Santosh, the District Collector, and T. Srinivasa Rao, the District Superintendent of Police, officially started the match. The SP conducted the coin toss, and the Press Team chose to bat first.

The Press Team managed to score 63 runs in 12 overs. The Police Team, showing impressive skill, chased the total and reached 64 runs in just 8.5 overs to win the game.

After the match, SP Srinivasa Rao handed out trophies to both the winning and runner-up teams. All participants received mementos, and special awards were given for the “Best Batsman,” “Best Bowler,” and “Man of the Match.”

SP Srinivasa Rao noted the importance of both police and media in serving society. He emphasized that such events help in stress relief and mental health, providing a fun break from daily routines. Annual matches like these, he said, boost teamwork and cooperation between police and press.

The event saw enthusiastic involvement from Additional SP K. Shankar, SB Inspector Ravi, Gadwal CI Srinu, Alampur CI Ravi Babu, PCR Inspector Sampath, RI Venkat, Harif, and various SIs, alongside journalists and police staff.

The friendly match ended with a positive vibe, highlighting unity and collaboration between the media and law enforcement communities.
