Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Southern Region-I is hosting the ‘Inter Regional Table Tennis Tournament 2024’ at Lal Bahadur Shastri Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad from June 21 to June 23.
The tournament was inaugurated by Rajesh Srivastava, executive director of Southern Region-I, who welcomed all the players and commended them for their participation. Varuni Jaiswal, a table tennis player from Telangana, emphasized the importance of participation and the process of the game over the outcome. She highlighted the values that sports instill such as discipline, dedication, resilience, and physical strength.
Teams from different Powergrid regions across India are taking part in the tournament. There are a total of 10 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams, with each team consisting of six members. The competition includes various categories like Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and a Men’s & Women’s team event.
The event aims to promote sportsmanship and healthy competition among the participants while showcasing their talent and skills in table tennis.
