Hyderabad: NVSS Prabhakar, State BJP vice-president and ex-MLA of Uppal, has started a 48-hour sit-in protest at Ramanthapur. He is demanding the allocation of double bedroom houses to the poor, as promised by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Prabhakar addressed a large crowd at the dharna camp, including the applicants for 2 BHK houses. He criticized KCR for failing to fulfill his promise of providing houses to the poor and accused him of playing with their lives. The protest includes participation from party corporators and senior leaders.

Prabhakar also accused the government of lacking transparency in selecting the beneficiaries. He alleged that ruling party leaders, local MLA, and other elected representatives have been extorting money from the beneficiaries. For a 2 BHK house, they demand Rs 3 lakh, for Dalit Bandhu they demand Rs 5 lakh, and for BC Bandhu they demand Rs 15,000.
