Hyderabad’s Principle Secretary for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), Dana Kishore, has directed officials to create zonal plans to prevent flooding during the monsoon season. The GHMC Commissioner, EVDM Director, Zonal Commissioners, ENC, CE, Zonal SE, and Irrigation SE came together to review preparations for the monsoon.

During the meeting, Dana Kishore discussed areas in the GHMC region that are prone to flooding during monsoons, plans for rehabilitating affected people, and the need to prepare zone-wise plans for necessary funds. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness among residents to prevent accidents in manholes and catch pit areas. Measures should also be taken to align manholes with the road to avoid accidents.

The secretary instructed authorities to complete drainage work and any unfinished storm water drains before the rainy season. He assured that measures would be taken to ensure the citizens face no difficulties. The ENC was instructed to propose the second phase of CRMP work and identify water logging points on the road map. Non-working bore wells should also be identified. Sign boards and mesh should be installed at water stagnation points in the storm water canal to prevent accidents.
