Private schooling is becoming more dominant in Hyderabad, creating an unequal distribution of students and teachers between government and private schools. This puts a financial burden on parents. The National Family Health Survey 2020-21 showed improvements in education for the rural poor in Telangana. However, certain districts still have a high percentage of multi-dimensional poverty. Private schools are also prevalent in these districts. The School Education Dash Board of Telangana revealed an uneven distribution of schools, teachers, and students between government and private schools. The government has increased expenditure on education, but dropout rates remain high in government schools while private schools see an increase in enrollment.
