Nagarkurnool saw tension rise on Monday as farmers protested at the District Collectorate. They brought fertilizer bags, claiming fake fertilizers were being sold in the area.
Farmers from Jamisthapur village in Telakapally mandal had bought DAP fertilizer from a shop near the old agricultural market yard in Nagarkurnool. They were charged for high-quality DAP fertilizer, but received inferior and counterfeit products instead.
Upon opening the bags in their fields, the farmers realized the fertilizer was substandard, leading to disappointment and financial losses. Despite reporting the issue to local agriculture officials, no action followed. This inaction prompted the farmers to protest at the Collector’s office.
