Khammam – PV Srinivasa Rao, the newly appointed Right to Information (RTI) Commissioner for the state, shared his journey of perseverance and dedication during a felicitation event held at the IMA Hall in Khammam city.
Rao, a former journalist, said his life proves that consistent hard work eventually pays off. From his student days, he was actively involved in journalism and participated in the Telangana movement, facing many personal and professional struggles along the way.
During the event, organized by the PV Friends Association and led by Dr. Gongura Venkateswarlu (GV), Managing Director of Sri Raksha Hospital, Rao addressed a gathering of friends, well-wishers, and media professionals from the erstwhile Khammam district.
He spoke with emotion about the difficult times he endured. Despite facing humiliation during his early activism, he never gave up on his beliefs. “People may ignore or use us, but we should not lose heart,” he said. “Keep working hard, and success will come.”
Rao emphasized that his main goal has always been to help the underprivileged. He said he finds true happiness not in titles or wealth, but in being respected for his efforts. “Positions earned through integrity bring more satisfaction than those gained through shortcuts,” he added.
Now, as RTI Commissioner, Rao pledged to fight for justice and transparency. He promised to stand with marginalized communities and uphold the responsibilities of his new role with honesty and commitment.
